SCTC Tennis Club Championships 2023

Its time for our annual club knockout tournament. The tournament will begin in early May and matches can be played at a time that suits you (within the given timescale for
that round) with all finals being played on Sunday 17th September.

Events will be: (Minimum 4 players/pairs per event)
Men’s Singles
Men’s Doubles
Ladies Singles
Ladies Doubles
Mixed Doubles
u18 Singles ( anyone over 11yrs old who will still be
under the age of 18 on finals day and can play full court
yellow ball tennis)

New for 2023:-
Handicap singles (Players will be handicapped depending on seed to level the playing field, for example player 1 starts each game with -15, player 2 starts with +15)
Doubles and U18 plate competitions (All first MATCH losers will go into a secondary event with its own finals)

How to enter:-
The entry form is attached to this message and should be completed and sent or
handed to Jack . DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS 30th April 2023.
£5 entry fee per event paid by cash or bank transfer to :-
Max 3 Events per person
If you would like to enter a doubles draw without a partner, you can enter as a single and be matched up with someone else who has done the same.

Draws will be uploaded onto team app and updated with every result given and contact details will also be uploaded for players to contact opponents and arrange matches.

The Rules for the Club Championship Matches 2023 are as follows:

● Matches are the best of 3 tie-break sets to 6 games
● A Tie-break is to 7 points at 6 games all
● At 1 set all, if ALL Players agree, then a champions
tie-break can be played, which is to 10 points and you
need to win by 2 clear points.
●Plate draw matches will be short sets to 4 rather than 6
●Handicap matches are just 1 set to 6, no tie breaks, 1 final game played if 6-6
● Matches MUST be played by the date above your round.
If this is not possible then please arrange it at the
nearest date after it and LET ME KNOW so I do not give
a walk over.
● If your match has not been played by the date and I have
not heard from either player, then I will toss a coin for
who goes through to the next round.
● Finals day is on Sunday 17th September
● and if you are unable to play on this day, then you will
have to pull out at the semi-final stage, as all finals
MUST be played on finals day.
