Then why not book them on one of the County umpiring courses at a number of local venues over the coming months. A level one course enables the candidate to umpire recreational matches. The follow-on level two course equips them to umpire league matches. Both one-day weekend and three-evening weekday courses are available.
No experience necessary although a rudimentary knowledge of the game (if not the laws) is helpful.
