Staplehurst Twilight Walk - this Saturday!

11 Sep 2018 by John Swannick

It’s little more than 48 hours now until the Walk and the weather forecast is looking good.

You can book your ticket – £6 with all proceeds to the Brain Tumour Charity – right up until it starts by going to the Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/staplehursttwilightwalk/

Tickets for the Quiz – £5 including Ploughman’s Tea – can also be purchased. While it is better if you already have a Quiz team organised – minimum 3, maximum 6 people – you can still enter individually and team places will be allocated.

Details of the Walk including the route, stop-offs at the Kings Head and Church, and some delicious cakes, can also be found on the Facebook page

Staplehurst Cricket & Tennis Club is supporting the Staplehurst Twilight Walk in memory of our friend, former captain, chairman, president and trustee, John Munn who succumbed to a brain tumour earlier this year.

All Club members are encouraged to participate in the walk and/or quiz night in his name, to raise much needed funds for The Brian Tumour Charity as a fitting tribute to all he gave throughout his life, not least to the Club.

The Walk will start and end at the Club from 4.30pm on Saturday October 20th. The 4 km route will take in well-known sights around the village and is suitable for all the family, young and old.

The Brain Tumour Charity is a registered charity leading the fight to raise funds for much under-funded research into all forms of brain cancer including the most common, glioblastoma, which John suffered. It is aiming to raise £36 million – and raise awareness of the disease – through the Twilight Walk campaign over the autumn.
