First Aid training

6 Apr 2018 by John Swannick

You may not be aware but there is a small army of people in the Club who are trained first aiders. All our qualified coaches – volunteer or professional – are required to renew emergency first aid accreditation every three years.

We have organised an emergency First Aid training session at the Club for the first time as there are a number of coaches who need to renew their certificate. We are fortunate to have Rachel Callister in our membership who is a qualified first aid trainer.

We may have a small number of places available to non-coaches who would be interested in joining the course. The price is joining the Club’s list of accredited first aiders.

This is not a family first aid course – although Rachel runs those as well and something we may consider in the future – but focused on emergency first aid. That is, to have basic knowledge on keeping someone alive until professional help arrives. As such, it is only a 3 hour course.

It will take place on Tuesday April 24 from 6.30pm at the Club. If you are interested in joining us, please email john.swannick@staplehurstcricket.com for more information.

Longer term, if you would be interested in a family first aid course, please comment here and we can start to gauge the potential demand.
