Homeleigh renews commitment to junior cricket

4 Jul 2017 by John Swannick

Club President, Ray Jenkins, took the opportunity of his club day to unveil newly Homeleigh-branded cricket covers. And, at the same time, announce that the majority of Homeleigh’s sponsorship contribution is earmarked for investment in the Club’s junior cricket.

Homeleigh agreed to sponsorship of the covers after the Club received a grant of £4,000 from the England & Wales Cricket Board towards the £4,600 cost. The remainder of the £2,000 Homeleigh has committed will continue their funding of junior cricket development, under the Staplehurst Cricket Academy banner, including local schools outreach and the introduction of girls’ cricket.

Club vice-chairman and junior cricket director, John Swannick, is pictured in front of the new covers with Ray Jenkins and some of the 120 current junior cricketers at the Club who will benefit from Homeleigh’s sponsorship.

John Swannick said: “We expect these covers to last the next 10 years. But we hope Homeleigh’s generous funding of junior cricket will have a major impact on the future of the Club well beyond that.”
